Indie goods offer more than just higher quality; they’re often just as affordable as the mass-manufactured crap of mega-store fame. Some recent examples.

My point is this: Not too long ago it was almost universally true that mega retailers offered the best price on the greatest variety of goods, but with the low overhead of online store fronts, and the recent ease of attaining them, independent designers and manufacturers can easily compete price-wise with the big box stores.

Indie sellers work hard to offer higher quality, personal service, and unique products. That’s energy the mega stores are spending to mark the rumps of the public psyche with the branding iron of advertisement, to instill us with a false sense of trust for their brand. Frankly, I’d rather buy from a real person than (ahem) a ‘person’.
